Marla Craven

I have worked as a photographic artist since 1995. I started in the darkroom with black and white photography. Currently all work is digitally captured, processed and printed from my digital negative. My goal is to produce an image that speaks emotionally to the observer. I strive to convey my personal perspective on every piece. Landscapes, macro, and street photography are common subjects. I also enjoy introducing an element of abstraction into everyday scenes.
I print on many different mediums including various papers, wood, canvas, and most recently metal. Images are printed using techniques and dyes that insure excellent rendition and superior longevity.
An avid traveler, I have photographed in most of the United States as well as many different regions of the world including China, Cuba, and Iceland. My photographic prints are held in private and corporate collections throughout the United States. I participate in local and regional juried shows and have been fortunate to receive numerous awards. For several years, my work has been chosen for publication in Voices, a periodical of art and writing.
