Craig Kazmaier

Craig Kazmaier is an artist who works primarily in oils. He grew up in central Kansas, but moved to Colorado in 1974, where he began a design/build construction company. After seventeen years, he realized that construction/wood working were no longer bringing him the enjoyment it once had, so he returned to school and became a nurse practitioner. This change prompted his move to Overland Park in 1994.

Craig has been a lifelong artist drawing and painting for relaxation and enjoyment since his childhood. He has no formal training, relying instead on trial and error over years of practice. Each painting comes from a place of discovery, which has made it difficult to transition to selling artwork, as each piece feels like a part of himself.

The recent change in attitude toward selling artwork has come more from running out of space for new work than from any profit motive.
