SHOW TITLE Life Unbound | ARTIST Pat Forbes | MEDIUM Acrylic painting |
Life moves. Art remembers. (9/17-10/10)
That’s the line Pat Forbes chose for her new show, and we haven’t stopped thinking about it. Life Unbound is a collection of acrylic landscapes drawn from the places that have shaped Pat as an artist — the serene calm of the desert, the powerful motion of the ocean, the steadfast strength of mountains weathering a storm. Each painting holds the energy of the place that inspired it.
It’s the kind of work that asks you to slow down for a minute. Which, frankly, most of us could use.
Come see it in person
Life Unbound is on view at Images Art Gallery, 7320 W 80th St in Overland Park. We’re open Wednesday through Saturday, 10 to 6 — come stand in front of these paintings and feel them for yourself.

About the artist
Pat’s love of art started early. Her mother encouraged her to express her creativity however she wanted — drawing, painting, even shaping an inspiring garden. That foundation grew into a lifelong passion for capturing the essence of the world’s landscapes.
She works in acrylics now, wielding both palette knives and brushes to build texture, movement, and depth into every piece. Her paintings are more than something to look at — they’re an invitation to pause, connect, and notice the beauty that’s been surrounding you all along.
“Art touches our soul and inspires us deep inside to appreciate the beauty of the world.” — Pat Forbes
Art by mail? Yes, really. | Life Unboundedwith Pat Forbes
Here’s the part we’re especially excited about. Alongside the show, Pat is launching Life Unbound Collectible Art by Mail — original art, delivered monthly. Each month, a different piece of her work moves beyond the canvas and into your hands: a signed and numbered collectible postcard you can keep, send, or share.
Views From Life Unbounded
You can join for 3, 6, or 12 months, paid in advance, with U.S. shipping and postage included. Your first release mails within 3–5 business days of signing up, and new releases go out by the 15th of every month after that.
As Pat puts it, when you collect Life Unbound you’re supporting the creation of new work — you become a patron of the arts, and part of the story.
The first release is No. 01 — “Breaking Into Dusk”: waves crashing on a sandy beach, a gentle tide, a golden sunset, and a reminder that tomorrow is a new day.
